I know that most of you must know Lisa from Suburban Retreat. She is the first person I met when I started blogging. Those of you who know her, know that she takes the time to comment on every one of yours posts and the comments are as genuine as can be.
Well, she just contacted me and no longer has access to her blog. It is still there, but she is unable to sign in. Apparently from what I understand she was having problems with her lap top all week. Although she knew she'd lose all of her photos, she was resetting the laptop back to the factory settings.
It said she had updated her Google Account with a different email address and password. She called her email/internet provider who started digging and found another email address and password in her account. She was told it was probably some kind of Trojan virus that had hacked in.
Many of you who have known me for a while know that something similar happened to me and I lost my entire blog. I started from scratch right around Christmas. Although my entire blog was literally gone. I am in tears for Lisa right now because as menial as it might sound, it is devastating to lose all of the hard work you have put into your blog. I know that 99% of you will agree with me regarding this. She is most likely going to have to start over and is mostly devastated about losing her followers who have been so faithful to her as she has been to you. Once she gets up and running, I want to help her regain that following because she is one blogger who deserves our support. She is honestly one of the most genuine people I know and I am sure you will all agree.
Please leave me a comment if you were a follower of Lisa's or would like to follow her once she is up and running. I want to help her get back on track as soon as possible. Once I have her new blog, I will let everyone know. Take a look at her original blog to see what a stylish and sweet woman she is.
That being said, PLEASE back your blogs up now. You can save all of your posts on your computer. I believe you will lose your pictures and followers if this happens, but you will still have your literature. Go to your settings.
At the top where it says "blog tools", you will see "export blog". Click on this to save your blog to your computer. I do this once a week on different computers just in case one of my lap tops dies on me. I truly learned the hard way. BE VERY CAREFUL not to hit the "delete blog" button. It is right next to the "export blog" button. I know, STUPID!
I will be in touch with more regarding what is happening with her. She is so sweet that she is probably feeling the need to contact all of you to apologize for not commenting on your posts lately. Send her a sweet comment here and I will be sure to tell her to check back so she can see which of her followers are aware of her situation. Thanks for taking the time to read this....
One more thing I just thought of....If anyone out there isn't as computer challenged as I am and know how to help Lisa, please feel free to express your suggestions.

So sorry to hear about this and it makes worry about what I would do if I lost my blog. I will def help her out once she is set up again, but I am hoping there will be a way to get back into her original blog. Please keep us up to date.

such a scary thing. why are all the lovely lisas being targeted? let me know when her new blog is up and running. thankfully you are helping to spread the word about this awful blog infiltration that can happen. so scary.
ReplyDeleteLisa, that is horrible. This seems to be a common reoccurance which is so scary. I don't currently follower her but I will as soon as she gets a new blog AND I will do for her what I did for you in my side bar. Just let me know when. Blessings,
ReplyDeleteKelli
Ugh!!! That is really horrible, I was be devastated if this happened to me. I'd love to be a new follower once Lisa has her new blog up and running.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry. Thank you for the tip on how to back up my blog. I didn't know I could do this. Put me on the list for Lisa.
ReplyDeleteHere are instructions on how to save all of the posts Google has in it's reader archives. So, if anyone has Lisa's blog in Google reader, they can go and save all of the posts (albeit one at a time, but it would be a labor of love!), using these instructions:

I'll try to look into it after the kids are in bed . . . hopefully it won't be too late . . .
Hi Lisa and Lisa! I follow Lisa of Suburban Retreat also, and was saddened to read this! I hope someone can help her. Bless both of you, and I will stay tuned. I wish both of you the best!! -Tammy
ReplyDeleteP.S.) Lisa (Serendipity Lisa), was your blog deleted entirely from this same blogspot address, or did it have a different address? If you had a different address, you might be able to do a feed search in Google reader and find some of your old posts . . . hope this helps!
ReplyDeletePoor Lisa! I am a one her followers, she is such a sweet person. Thanks so much for helping!
ReplyDeleteLisa, This is bad. Lisa is one of the sweetest bloggers. You are so right.
ReplyDeleteShe has a no-reply on her comments so I wasn't able to let her know how sorry I was and that I really hope she's able to get things worked out. Please let her know for me that I'll miss her until she's back!!!
So sorry to hear this!
ReplyDeleteYikes! I love Lisas blog... I can't believe she lost everything! Please keep us updated and let me know if I can help in any way... in the meantime, I'm going to go back up my blog!
