Before and after....a little off topic

I know most of you stop by here for DIY and before and after furniture and home decor projects. I'm going to veer a little off topic today because my kids always say, "can I be on your blog"? Since it isn't really the theme here I usually tell them no unless of course they are in a picture carrying a piece of furniture or have a paint brush in their hands.....LOL! But this one time my daughter Samantha wanted to "shine" and show her before and after hair.

She is 11 years old and has never had a "proper" haircut, unless of course you count me doing it with the craft scissors from the junk drawer. She has GORGEOUS natural curly hair....She is on and off as to whether she likes it depending on the day.....



For her birthday we got her a gift certificate to the hair salon for a haircut, manicure, and pedicure. Although I love her curly hair, she opted to have the hairdresser blow dry her hair straight for a day of enjoyment. The second she hops in the shower, those curly ringlets will be bouncing right back....So here she is for her day of fame....

    She is beautiful. What a blessings to have curly hair...to have the option of wearing it both ways! Have to say I love curls...wish I had some! Happy birthday to your girl!!!

    She is beautiful Lisa. I have a friend with curly hair like hers..she hated growing up and now she is glad :) At least she has the option to straighten it..unlike us with straight hair..we have to work to get curls..ha.
    What an awesome birthday gift for a girl! She must have felt like a princess :)

    Although your blog is supposed to educate us on decorating and furniture makeovers, I think we would still LOVE to get to know your family because after all, we are all one big, happy Blogging family! Hi Samantha ... I am so glad your Mom allowed you to be featured on her blog! I guess you already know that you have THE BEST HAIR EVER, whether it's left curly or straightened.     you already know i think sami is just gorgeous, and she looks lovely with straight hair, too! i am a sucker for naturally curly hair though- it is sooooo beautiful.

    Very cute and what a great gift....now, check out www.naturallycurly.com and read Curly Girl by Lorraine Massey...it will change her life and how she feels about her hair. I finally discovered a stylist here in town that uses their method. I can't WAIT til my next cut.
