Then I remembered I had this giant metal basket I got from Goodwill for $2. It would work perfectly to mimic this project in a round about way.
I sprayed the basket black and came up with my own version of a numbered hook.
To make the number plaque, I found this image online.
I cut out one of the numbers and decopodged it to a board. In addition I added a vintage hook. I screwed eye hooks to the top of the board, then put wire through it to tie it to the basket. Seeing that I already had the hook and board on hand, the total cost for this project was $3. $2 for the basket and $1 for a can of black Wal-Mart spray paint.
GREAT idea!!!! i love how you did it with the image. and guess what.... i have the EXACT same basket as you. i got mine at ikea a while back and now it is empty in my storage. it would be so cool in sawyer's room maybe... hmmm... my wheels are turning!
ReplyDeleteAWESOMENESS!!!! The number is the icing on the cake!

You are my inspiration guru!!
ReplyDeleteAre these more genius ideas that you cook up through the night, while you should be getting some shut eye? What a brilliant idea and at a fraction of the cost! Your knockoff storage solution is FABULOUS! So happy to be up and running again and THANK YOU for always being so supportive and kind! xox
ReplyDeleteok, i love this idea and ive been thinking about re-doing my entry the past few days. i have a great rusty crate that will be perfect for this!
ReplyDeleteI've been drooling over these too! What a great job you did!
ReplyDeleteCute, I did a locker basket storage idea at Christmas, hadn't seen Anthro's. Love the hook. Thanks so much for linking up to Beyond the Picket Fence.
ReplyDeleteSuper cute. I like your number and hook a lot
ReplyDeleteWay too cool Lisa! I have some wire baskets here too! Hmmmmm!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about falling in love with that Anthropologie piece. The Yankee actually found several baskets similar to the Anthro ones - at our favorite junkyard. We just haven't had the weather for painting them. Your version turned out great, Lisa. How smart to use a picture for the number on your tag.
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking to the party. I love seeing your creative projects each week. ;)
