Remember those very awesome HUGE frames I showed you yesterday that I got from the flea market for only $5? Well, I put one of them to very good use today. I have to admit, I am so happy with the way this project turned out!
I decided to use one in Sami's room since we are making it over.
This next picture I am sharing is of the primed frame and a vinyl candelabra that I purchased from TJ MAXX for a couple of dollars. I didn't want to use it as the vinyl though. So, I adhered it to a paper bag for stability then cut the whole darn thing out. I stuck it to the wall so I could trace it.
I traced it 3 separate times then hand painted two coats of paint on each. I also did two coats of butter cream on the frame and distressed it. Once I put it all together, I was in love!
I have a few more odds and ends to take care of before the whole room reveal.
Congratulations to Elizabeth from Erratically Elizabeth for winning my Pinwheel Fair giveaway.

How fun!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great use of a vinyl decal, I hate how you can't reuse them so I've started sticking them on canvas so they are as mobile as my life needs. I just had to peel the first one I ever put on a wall off this weekend to make room for a new project and oh it was a chore! Thanks for another great idea!
ReplyDeleteThat frame is gorgeous with the butter cream paint on it! Love the original, one-of-a-kind piece of artwork for Sami's room.

What a sweet idea Lisa~ I love it. The frame is just gorgeous too! Can't wait to see the reveal! Thanks for sharing at FNF! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the solid green that you picked for the background. I love how beautiful it is yet it was so little money to make. That's one of the most amazing things about your art. You always create beauty with such inexpressive things.
