I am on project three from the breakdown of a wardrobe. You can see project one HEREand project two HERE. This time I used the base of the wardrobe. It is a thin piece of wood with wood trim around it. I opted to go with another sign. Cassie at Primitive and Proper led me to a great quote at The Shabby Nest
"She went out on a limb. had it break off behind her, and realized she could fly".

Here is the board pre painting...
I added white paint, did the letters in aqua outlined in black, then distressed the entire piece....Darling for a little girl's room....I had to change the wording slightly to fit my sign. It measures 20"x44".
On a side note, I got a GREAT dresser today at the thrift store. I'll give a full makeover tutorial and show the finished product tomorrow evening. Here's a sneak peak.
My giveaway with The Painted Sky ends tonight at midnight. ENTER HERE Come back Tuesday to meet my newest Etsy seller with her fabulous giveaway.
Hope everyone had a productive and great weekend....

Man you work fast! How do you do that????
ReplyDeleteI love that sign (& you're right, perfect in a little girl's room).
ReplyDeleteYour sign is gorgeous and I love the fact that you wrote the message as opposed to printing it! The aqua outlined by the black also looks so effective and makes the wording 'pop'! Very precious! I absolutely LOVE the fact that you are using so many pieces of the wardrobe. No waste here! Talk about recycling ... you could write the book on it!
ReplyDeleteloooooove how the sign turned out! it looks amazing!!!
ReplyDeleteand can't wait to see what you do with that dresser. i love the shape of it- so unique!
The sign turned out GREAT! love it ... and that quote! Can't wait to see the dresser transformation! :)

Very nice sign. Did you freehand that or use some type of stencil?
ReplyDeleteI love how you did the letters in aqua. That makes the words really come more to life.
