Shabby chic wood box makeover

Yesterday I shared a before photo with you of a large wooden box I found by the garbage at the flea market yesterday. Yes, it was free...YAY!

I loved it, but was not to fond of the color combo. I knew I'd have to paint it a color that would match red and blue though, seeing that these colors would come through with the distressing. I chose a pale gray.

In addition, I wanted to share a quick story. When I first started blogging, I was so jealous of so many bloggers meeting each other in their states, getting together, and becoming friends. Then a couple of months ago, another blogger contacted me letting me know she lived in CT too. Turns out we are only 25 minutes from each other. We got to know each other pretty well via email communication. Then one day while I was vending at the flea, my "new friend" Debra was there and recognized my stuff I was selling from my blog. She knew right away it was me. We clicked instantly and have seen each other at the flea 3 times since. Not only has she become a great friend, but she is my best customer...LOL! Honestly, I don't want her to feel she has to buy my stuff, but she seems to really enjoy it and is sure to thank me up and down and display it all so perfectly in her home.

With all of that being said, I'd like to introduce you to Debra from Capers of the Vintage Vixens. If you love vintage, romantic, and shabby chic home decor, you won't be able to get enough of her. I plan on visiting her at her home soon to be able to see this magical place in person. Here is a sneak peak of some of her home.

Debra and her daughter also run an online vintage shop called Maison St. Germain. It's a beautiful shop.
So, be sure to visit Capers of Vintage Vixens and say hello to Debra.
