Shabby chic cottage chair...

Today was a day to CLEAN and organize my house. Tomorrow the tree will come down. Needless to say, I didn't get the chance to tackle many projects today. I was able to check a chair refinish of "the list" though....

The "before" shot is very boring, plain, and drab.....

A coat of primer, two coats of paint, and some distressing.....

Randy picked up a decent dresser for me today at Goodwill...Hopefully I will have the reveal to post tomorrow.....

Take care,
Lisa

  3. Hi Lisa,

What a pop of fresh, lovely color on that chair! Do you spray on your paint or brush it by hand? I recently painted (by hand) a rocking chair with a ton of spindles and it nearly drove me batty. It didn't help it was dark wood that I painted white, so in addition to the layer of primer, it took three coats of paint. Lesson learned! I have a sprayer I picked up from eBay earlier this year, but have yet to use it. You bet it'll be coming out in 2011!

I am so sorry to read about your blog disaster, too! I didn't realize what happened til I saw Courtney's note at French Country Cottage. I'm following again and have added your new blog to my blog list so I can stay abreast of all your great projects. I will definitely be checking out Donna's tutorial on backing up my blog. Such a sickening thought all our work can disappear in a blink. You'll bounce back though, I have no doubt.

Best wishes for a Happy New Year!
