Inexpensive wall art that smells oh so good!

This project I am going to share today is sooo easy and inexpensive. I started with this piece of snow board fencing from Nantucket.

Using some lavender from a friend's garden and some organza ribbon I had laying around, I came up with this:

Fun! Whimsical! And the best part.....FREE!

AMAZING friends

To be completely honest, at the end of last year when I first started blogging, I had no idea what a blog even was. I quickly picked up on it and have enjoyed every minute. Another thing I didn't know was that you will meet some of the best friends you will ever make in a lifetime.

Recently I have had a few things going on around here that have been preventing me from blogging as much as I'd like to. I got some emails from some close friends asking where the heck I have been. I let them know I had some other priorites to take care of and they have been so understanding and have been checking in on me. Recently I received a wonderful surprise from 3 of those people. The other day I received the most sincere gift from them. You know all of them as Ali from My Third True Love, Cassie from Primitive & Proper, and Andi from Jane of All Crafts.

Each gift reflected each of their own personalities, and if you know any of them, you will know exactly what came from each of them.

If you are wondering what the 80's spin ride is, it is a mix of 80's songs Cassie uses when teaching her spin classes. Yes, we are both cheesy and love 80's music.....

Thanks girls! You are truly amazing!

Yet ANOTHER piece from my father

What a gorgeous weekend it is here in CT. Sami and I started the day bright and early going for a HIKE. After that I knew it was time to tackle at least one project today. As many of you know because I repeat it over and over, my parents are building a new home, therefore "cleaning out"....Here is another amazing piece from my father...(of course I can't find the before photo...it was simply worn wood)

So sorry about the quick and boring posts lately. I have a lot going on right now and unfortunatley blogging has been put on the back burner.

Hope everyone has a great 4th of July weekend!

Shabby chic dessert serving dish

I have never been the type to use matching serving pieces. I love the eclectic vibe of mismatched pieces. I made a fairly simple serving piece this weekend for a total of $3. I purchased a dish, a candlestick holder, and a cloche. All were $1 a piece. This is how it turned out.

Spray paint and fabric go a long way.....

I am always so amazed at the transformation an object can go through simply with a couple of coats of spray paint and some new fabric. For example....Here is a boring, bland , and ugly chair I found....

Two coats of white spray paint and some scrap fabric transformed this boudoir chair into this.....

The white box!

Well, daddy dearest comes through for me again. He finds the coolest stuff for me to paint and the majority of the time, he gets it for free. The other day he gave me this AWESOME wood box.

Although it was already so cool the way it was, I wanted to add some color to brighten it up and give it the "pop" it needed....I know, it is so unlike me, but I actually went with the color white for a change....
