Eclectic chic botanical wall art....

Everyone who comes into my home walks around saying, "I love that, and that, and that". I cringe and say "oh, I hate that, but I have nothing else to put there". Well.....I did a piece yesterday that I can honestly say I LOVE! I have this very large space on my bathroom/laundry room wall that needed a very large piece. Of course everything I would see cost a fortune. So, like usual, it was the middle of the night and an idea popped into my head that would only cost me $1. Yup, that was not a typo...$1.

It is similar to the wall art I recently showed that I did for another bathroom of mine. You can see that HERE. Although the two are the same concept, they are completely different and unique in their own way.

I started with my $1 window. It had one broken pane, so I knocked all of them out. I cleaned up the frame by sanding off any loose paint.

I took vintage cedar I had laying around, cut it to size, painted it white, and distressed it. I printed images from the GRAPHICS FAIRY and decopodged them to the wood. The TUTORIAL for doing this can be seen on the above mentioned wall art I did for my other bathroom.

Here is what I came up with....

The room this art is hanging , is fully renovated, but I am going to hold off on posting about it because there are a few changes I am making....

So, if you have been wondering what you can do with old windows, here it is. Cheap and something you will love hanging in your home.

Take care,
Lisa

  9. I love your botanical window! What a fun and cleaver idea! I received an old 6 pane window from my mom awhile back, and I added prints of roses that I found in a book ($1 at the library's used book sale!) to each pane. Thanks for sharing such a great idea!

  12. It most be fun a a guest to see all your art. It's probably overwhelming the amount of art you have in your home. Would be fun though to see it all.
